In Mykolaiv region, TCC officers detained a Red Cross driver during an evacuation
15.08.2026 12:09The situation with the evacuation of residents from frontline areas of Ukraine has worsened.
This conclusion was reached by ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets based on the results of a sociological survey among internally displaced persons (IDPs) and residents of the frontline zone.
According to the survey results, 59% of respondents do not feel safe — 12 percentage points more than a year earlier. Readiness to evacuate, by contrast, has declined: only 43% of those surveyed said they were prepared to do so, which is 11 percentage points less compared to the previous year.
The survey also revealed serious problems with public awareness. One in seven of those who need evacuation — 15% — does not know where to turn for help.
A severe problem with compensation for forced migrants was also recorded separately. According to the survey, 57% of IDPs have lost their homes, yet only 5% of them have received any compensation.
