One member of parliament avoids paying 38,353 euros in taxes per year

Ukraine allocates 37,900 hryvnias (approximately 908 euros) per year for the rental of housing for one member of parliament, while 7,500 hryvnias (180 euros) are spent on transportation expenses each month. In total, one member of parliament costs 1.6 million hryvnias (38,353 euros) in taxes per year.

This follows from the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada on the budget for 2024. The document states that parliamentarians are allocated 7,500 hryvnias (180 euros) per month for transportation expenses.

In addition, parliamentarians receive 19,452 hryvnias (466 euros) per month for the accrual of wages for assistant-consultants. This amounts to 233,423.5 hryvnias (approximately 5,595 euros) per year.

For housing rental, the budget allocates 237,900 hryvnias (5,703 euros) per year for each member of parliament. However, parliamentarians receive over a million hryvnias per year for the Fund for the payment of wages to assistant-consultants. This is 88,418 hryvnias (2,119 euros) per month.

Additionally, the budget allocates 8,000 hryvnias (192 euros) per year for the travel of assistant-consultants to electoral districts. 167 hryvnias (4 euros) per month are allocated for the maintenance of premises in electoral districts.
