Only four remain in service: The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost nearly all of the Abrams tanks supplied by Western partners — media reports

Russia has almost destroyed Ukraine’s fleet of M1 Abrams tanks.

This was reported by The National Interest.

According to the publication, since the M1 Abrams tanks arrived at the front last year, Ukraine has lost 87% of the vehicles it received. According to Military Watch Magazine, out of the 31 tanks delivered, only four remain operational.

“Although the Abrams series of main battle tanks is considered one of the most advanced and reliable armored vehicles in service today, the platform has faced difficulties in Ukraine. A range of issues — from Ukraine’s lack of air and artillery support to shortages of technical and mechanical specialists, as well as personnel and equipment — have contributed to the Abrams’ ineffectiveness on the front line,” the article states.

About a year ago, the same publication noted that the deployment of Abrams tanks in Ukraine proved ineffective due to Russian drones and anti-tank systems.
