25.03.2026 - 08:01In the part of Donetsk region controlled by Ukraine, water supply schedules will be introduced after a strike on the dam on the Siverskyi Donets River near Raihorodok.
This was reported to Suspilne by Ihor Novak, Director General of the Donbas Water Company utility.
According to him, the strikes damaged reservoirs at the first and second pumping stations of the Siverskyi Donets–Donbas canal, leaving about two weeks’ worth of water in them.
Because of the destruction of the hydraulic structure, it is no longer possible to replenish the water intakes at the first and second pumping stations, making regular water supply to local населённые пункты impossible.
“At present, there is enough water left for two months. Therefore, water supply schedules will be introduced in the cities of Donbas. We also urge people to use water rationally and sparingly,” Novak said.
