29.09.2025 05:03Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to stop “persecuting” his country.
The statement appeared on the Hungarian leader’s page on the social network X.
“President Zelensky, with all due respect, stop persecuting us!” Orbán wrote.
The prime minister stressed that Hungary is a member of both NATO and the European Union, and that, in his words, Ukraine “would have collapsed long ago” without the support of these two organizations.
Earlier, Kyiv accused Budapest of sending drones into Ukrainian territory, which Hungary denies.
Meanwhile, Deutsche Welle reported that the European Union cannot bypass Hungary’s veto blocking the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
