Over $15,000 in the Kherson region: In Ukraine, the size of bribes for evading mobilization is rapidly increasing

The size of bribes for evading mobilization in Ukraine is rapidly increasing. In particular, the cost of assistance in evading mobilization in the right-bank part of the Kherson region has risen significantly.

This was reported by sources from Ukrainian Reality in the Kherson region.

According to our journalists, the current minimum bribe demanded by employees of territorial recruitment centers for declaring a person subject to mobilization as unfit is $15,000 (previously around $10,000).

Sources from the publication indicate that these circumstances are due to the increased risks for the organizers of these criminal schemes, which is related to the growing number of cases of arrest and prosecution of corrupt employees of territorial recruitment centers.

In addition, the rise in prices for these shadow services has also affected “volunteer” (exemption from conscription due to volunteer activities in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), “student” (leaving the country for education) and other schemes used by Ukrainians to avoid mobilization.
