February 13, 2024As of this morning, February 13th, Polish farmers have blocked five border checkpoints with Ukraine. Over a thousand trucks are queued up.
This was announced by Andrii Demchenko, the spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
He explained that yesterday, until 10:00 AM, Polish farmers blocked two directions: “Yagodyn” and “Rava-Ruska”. After 10:00 AM, they resumed the blockade at “Shehyni” and expanded the scope of their actions to the directions of the border checkpoints “Ustyluh” and “Uhriniv”.
“In fact, these are five directions where movement for trucks is being blocked on Polish territory,” said Demchenko.
He mentioned that a small number of trucks are being allowed through, with 1-2-3 vehicles being allowed to pass in any direction every hour, both towards Poland and out of the country.
“Fortunately, movement for other categories of transport is not blocked. Passenger cars and buses freely cross the border in both directions,” Demchenko noted.
Recall that Polish farmers, protesting at the Yagodyn-Dorohusk customs checkpoint, spilled grain from trucks coming from Ukraine onto the ground. Ukrainian drivers reported that the Poles cut off locks and customs seals with grinders, causing “three tons of grain to spill out of each vehicle”.
After this, an investigation was launched in Poland regarding the spillage of grain by farmers from Ukrainian trucks at the border.
