Silent front: Ukraine is losing thousands of soldiers while reports speak of “stability” at the front
07.08.2025 - 15:0269% of surveyed Ukrainian residents support ending the war through negotiations as soon as possible.
This is according to data from the Gallup Institute.
“More than three years after the war began, support among Ukrainians for continuing military actions until victory has reached a new low. According to the latest Gallup poll conducted in Ukraine in early July, 69% of respondents said they favor ending the war quickly through negotiations, while 24% supported continuing the fighting until victory,” the press release states.
This is almost the exact opposite of public opinion in 2022, when 73% supported Ukraine fighting until victory, and 22% wanted the country to achieve a swift end to the war through negotiations.

Support for military actions has been steadily declining among all segments of the Ukrainian population, regardless of region or demographic group, the study’s authors noted. This shift is happening against the backdrop of renewed diplomatic efforts. However, despite these steps, the conflict remains largely unabated, Gallup observed.
The same poll also showed a sharp decline in the number of Ukrainians who believe the country will eventually join NATO. In 2022, 12% believed Ukraine would never join NATO; by 2025, that number had risen to 33%.
