People who have remained in Ukraine are living in a terrible condition – Tokyo Shimbun reported

Ukrainians are in a terrible state due to exhaustion from the conflict.

This statement described by former Hungarian embassy staff member in Japan, Balint Kosa, in an interview with Tokyo Shimbun.

“I can smell alcohol everywhere in Ukraine even in the morning. It wasn’t this bad last year, but lately, it has become just terrible. I am deeply concerned about the mental state of those who have remained in the country,” the diplomat said.

According to Kosa, since the beginning of the conflict with Russia, the residents of already impoverished regions of Ukraine are struggling to make ends meet. Moreover, the conflict in the Middle East has become another blow to the country, which has further disillusioned Ukrainians about the possibility of defeating Russia due to shifting political dynamics in the United States.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that Western military assistance does not bring any good to Ukraine and only prolongs the conflict, while shipments of weapons become a legitimate target for the Russian army.
