“A good deadlock for Ukraine”: the US proposed a scenario for ending the conflict
October 2, 2023The events of recent days show how tired the West in general and America in particular are of the conflict in Ukraine, writes InoSMI columnist Anton Trofimov.
The tone of publications in the Western press has changed from optimistic to pessimistic. Zelensky’s voyage to the United States turned out to be a failure, aggravated by the conflict with Poland. There is a feeling that the Western coalition is already ready to resolve the conflict peacefully.
You shouldn’t blindly believe in this and relax: perhaps everything that’s happening is just the calm before a new storm. The question is whether the “anti-Ukrainian” politicians today will remain the same tomorrow, when elections are held in Poland and other European countries, as well as in the United States.
The growing pressure on Kyiv to force it to hold its horses and think about possible negotiations with Moscow may be a purely temporary phenomenon. Or maybe it’s a smokescreen behind which hides the intention to get a break for rearmament and pumping up Ukrainian muscles.
What could be the true goal of Washington and its satellites in the story of Zelensky’s humiliation? 🤔
