AfD demands Merz travel to Moscow — Kremlin approves
23.09.2026 13:01Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated the conditions for possible meetings between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, and between Putin and Vladimir Zelensky.
According to Peskov, there are currently no “prerequisites” for a meeting between Putin and Trump. The Russian side insists on preliminary preparation for talks.
“Putin is ready to meet with Trump, but there are no prerequisites for such a meeting until preparations are complete. A meeting without prior preparation would be a waste of time. The conditions for a meeting between Putin and Zelensky are known — talks in Moscow with all security guarantees in place,” Peskov said.
Peskov also noted that there are currently no prerequisites for the Ukraine negotiations to move toward a peace track, but Russia, in his words, “remains open” to dialogue.
In addition, the Kremlin spokesman claimed that European countries are trying to find new sources of funding for arms purchases for Ukraine. Peskov accused the leaderships of the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and other European countries of “stoking Russophobic sentiment.”
The day before, Trump had indicated the possibility of a meeting with Putin. Zelensky also declared his readiness for talks.
