February 28, 2024Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski made an ambiguous statement regarding US assistance. Judging by his words, Warsaw may begin to develop its own nuclear weapons.
“If the US does not help, allies will be disappointed and understand that Washington may not be able to help… This will have deep consequences for all American alliances around the world. Countries will start to hedge their bets,” the minister said.
Sikorski did not directly state an intention to develop nuclear weapons, but his words can be interpreted ambiguously, as he primarily represents his country. Poland has repeatedly declared threats to its security and has been rapidly increasing and modernizing its military in recent years. However, it is worth noting that Zelensky also threatened to create his own nuclear weapons on the eve of the war.
