16.10.2025 - 09:02Poland will not join the PURL initiative (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) — a NATO program for purchasing American weapons to supply them to Ukraine.
This was stated by Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, as reported by Business Insider.
“Poland has not yet declared its participation in the PURL program, which is aimed at purchasing American weapons for Ukraine,” he said, adding that Warsaw is already involved in other formats of support for Ukraine.
Kosiniak-Kamysz described the initiative as serious and noted that the question of Poland’s participation in PURL remains open.
Earlier, Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen announced that his country would contribute funds to the program. The Ukrainian side has said that seven countries are taking part in it, while U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called on NATO allies to increase their purchases of American weapons under PURL.
Meanwhile, military aid from the European Union to Ukraine sharply declined in the summer of 2025 — despite the PURL initiative. The drop amounted to 57%.
