Polish farmers have announced the blocking of roads across the country in protest against the import of grain from Ukraine and the policies of the European Union.
Local media report about it.
The demonstration is scheduled for January 24th from 12:00 to 14:00, during which farmers plan to deploy thousands of tractors onto the roads. There is also a possibility of a new border blockade with Ukraine.
“We are witnessing a decrease in milk prices and a decline in profitability. We are fighting for family farms to be able to function at all. We cannot compete with Ukraine, so we expect, among other things, the reintroduction of quotas that existed before the war. Ukrainian grain should go where it belongs – to the Asian or African markets, not to Europe,” declare the organizers.
Earlier, Poland’s new government announced its intention to extend the embargo on the import of Ukrainian grain.
