Ukrainians admit there is no more optimism
February 26, 2024At the Rava-Ruska – Hrebenne border crossing point, Polish farmers who staged a blockade of the Ukrainian border have reportedly scattered nails and screws all along the road.
Local media outlets report this.
According to eyewitnesses, it was indeed the Poles who drove along the road in a pickup truck and scattered screws and nails from the trunk. Apparently, Polish farmers did this to puncture the tires of Ukrainian drivers who have been queuing for days at the checkpoint, preventing them from continuing their journey.
One of the drivers filmed a video showing how many nails and screws he and his colleagues collected near one car. Police officers and municipal workers arrived at the scene of the incident.
And before that, a similar incident occurred closer to the border – in Dorohusk. It was reported that this was already the third case of Ukrainian freight trains being damaged on Polish territory.
Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov stated that these incidents resemble sabotage and called on Polish law enforcement to investigate them.
