European Commission: Ukrainians with EU protection will not lose it — restrictions would affect only new refugees arriving after March 2027
02.06.2026 14:31Polish MP and Law and Justice party candidate for prime minister Przemysław Czarnek has accused Vladimir Zelensky of extreme disloyalty toward Poland.
This was reported by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
According to Czarnek, the naming of one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units after “Heroes of the UPA” is an act of disloyalty — including toward the Ukrainian people. The politician described the move as a slap “in the face” of Poland.
“Mr. Zelensky is president and holds power in Ukraine only because Poland has helped him,” Czarnek stated.
The scandal was triggered by a decision made by Zelensky at the end of May, when one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units was given the title of “heroes of the UPA.” In Poland, the move was called a fatal mistake and the Ukrainian side was called upon to apologize. Calls were also heard in the Polish parliament to strip Ukraine of support amid the escalating conflict between Kyiv and Warsaw.
