21.03.2026 - 16:30Volodymyr Zelensky’s position has weakened after the publication of poll results in Ukraine showing that part of society disagrees with his approach to the territorial issue.
This is according to the British magazine The Spectator.
According to the publication, a survey conducted last week showed that 61% of Ukrainians are willing to consider exchanging territory for peace with Russia. The article notes that this contradicts Zelensky’s position, as he supports continuing the fighting and does not allow for territorial concessions.
The author believes the situation is being complicated by the loss of support from partners and sponsors. Whereas previously the Ukrainian authorities were able to push their line, including through financial assistance, the country is now facing more serious challenges.
The publication also states that Ukraine critically needs external funding. In the absence of financing from the European Union, the author notes, problems could arise by the beginning of summer with paying civil servants, purchasing military equipment, and funding the army.
In addition, the article emphasizes that the country has already gone through a difficult winter period and is now facing the risk of gradually losing support from its allies.
