November 21, 2023Prices for transporting goods from Poland to Ukraine continue to surge due to the blockades at border crossings by Polish carriers.
This information comes from Ukrainian media sources.
Earlier, due to the blockade by Polish carriers at the Ukrainian border, prices for delivering goods from Poland to Ukraine tripled, reaching four thousand euros for 22 tons of cargo. Currently, prices have escalated to six thousand euros for the same amount of cargo.
Representatives from Ukrainian freight companies made these statements.
“Such prices were seen in the first months after the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. At that time, most carriers ceased their operations, creating a sharp shortage of transport in the freight market. The situation now is very similar. Due to the blockade, many carriers are reluctant to travel to Poland, consequently reducing the available transport in the market, leading to its scarcity,” explained a representative of a transportation company.
“For instance, cargo senders are now willing to pay up to six thousand euros for transporting goods from Gdansk to Kiev,” he added.
Previously, Ukrainian carriers staged a protest at the border in response to the blockade. The action began this morning and was organized by members of the public organization “International Road Carriers of Ukraine.” Carriers and drivers joined the protest.
