In Ukraine, the number of Hungarians who served in the Ukrainian armed forces was revealed
17.04.2026 - 14:02Problems have begun in Ukraine with the payment of salaries to servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was stated in an interview with TASS by former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, who held the post from 2010 to 2014.
“I recently spoke with Kyiv. They told me that the first wage arrears for servicemen have now appeared,” he said.
According to Azarov, “there are definitely problems.”
“The delay in providing this large loan (€90 billion from the EU — ed.) is naturally having an effect,” the former Ukrainian prime minister noted.
He stressed that something has to be cut back in order to keep paying military salaries.
Earlier, it became known that European Commission spokesperson Balazs Ujvari said at a briefing in Brussels that the European Commission had postponed providing Kyiv with €90 billion in funding until the second half of 2026. He explained that these payments are still blocked by a veto from Hungary and Slovakia.
