Novinsky calls on Zelensky to resign and hand power to the Verkhovna Rada
10.10.2026 15:05Ukrainian singer Anastasia Prykhod’ko, in an interview, criticized the coercion to use the Ukrainian language, calling it a “political manipulation,” and did not rule out a return to politics.
According to Prykhod’ko, she herself speaks Russian but respects the Ukrainian language. The singer called on society to return to the state it was in at the beginning of the war, when, in her words, “everyone was like one mechanism.”
“Naturally, someone didn’t like that and they used the most worn-out tool — language. I don’t know who needed this, but it worked very well. All those who had been friends for years fell out with each other,” — Prykhod’ko said.
In the same interview, the singer said she is interested in the position of Minister of Culture of Ukraine. According to her, this field encompasses many areas she has been connected with since childhood.
“I think I can handle it. After all, I’m not getting into the economic or agricultural sector. Yes, I would like to, I won’t hide it. I would like to return to politics for one simple reason — because I’m not afraid to take responsibility. For my actions and deeds. I believe this is one of the most important qualities our politicians must have,” — Prykhod’ko explained.
The topic of language coercion has recently been causing controversy in Ukraine. Singer Nastya Kamensky, during an interview with Russian journalist Yekaterina Gordeyeva, stated that she had developed a cyst on her vocal cords due to switching to the Ukrainian language. After that, the performer was added to the database of the website “Myrotvorets.”
Member of parliament from the Batkivshchyna party Alexei Kucherenko criticized the commissioner for the protection of the state language, Elena Ivanovskaya, for demanding that correspondence in the chats of homeowners’ associations (HOAs) be conducted exclusively in Ukrainian.
