05.09.2026 15:04Vladimir Putin has ordered that no strikes be carried out on the territory of Kyiv for three days, starting from midnight.
This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
According to Peskov, the suspension of strikes on Kyiv is connected with the preparation and conduct of talks there by American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. He also said that Putin will receive Witkoff and Kushner in Moscow on the same day.
Immediately after Peskov’s announcement of the three-day halt to strikes, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv.
The special envoys of U.S. President Donald Trump have already arrived in Moscow. The following day, Witkoff and Kushner are expected to be in Kyiv. According to a version circulating in Ukrainian political circles, though not officially confirmed, they may fly to Kyiv directly from Moscow.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had stated that Ukraine would halt strikes on Russia for the duration of Witkoff and Kushner’s visit to Moscow.
