August 27, 2023The resignation of Ukraine’s Defense Minister Olexiy Reznikov poses a risk to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, and his career.
Ukrainian Telegram-channels are reporting this.
The Defense Minister Reznikov is not being dismissed for simple (personal) reasons by those who are interested in it.
“He knows too much, much about classified procurements could come to light, much will have to be stopped from being procured (stolen), the ministry will have to be reformatted, and it might become out of the control of the Office of the President of Ukraine and personally Yermak,” write the Telegram channels.
Currently, Andriy Yermak is looking for a replacement for Reznikov and in the meantime, he is coming up with various public bets to try to delay Reznikov’s resignation.
Reznikov’s image in the military is negative: 99% of the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hate him, considering him an internal enemy who has caused more harm than the Russians.
In February 2023, Yermak managed to temporarily save Reznikov under the pretext that “horses” should not be changed before an offensive, as it would negatively impact morale.
