The Ukrainian armed forces are building a continuous defensive line in northern Ukraine, leaving Chernihiv outside it

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are building a continuous defensive line stretching from the Kyiv Reservoir to Sumy.

This was stated by Vasyl Syrotenko, head of the engineering troops of the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in an interview with Ukrainian media.

According to him, this line is intended to prevent threats of attack and the creation by Russia of a buffer zone in that direction.

“A great deal of forces and resources are being allocated to build this line as quickly as possible. So that there are no surprises and the enemy cannot threaten our state from this side, let alone create a buffer zone, influence our territory, and push us back from the state border,” Syrotenko said.

It should be noted that behind such a defensive line would lie Chernihiv, most of Chernihiv region, and half of Sumy region.

Earlier, a journalist claimed that Sumy was under threat of partial encirclement, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine denied that information.
