30.09.2025 11:01For a month now, European countries have not contributed additional funds to the U.S.-run program for purchasing weapons for Ukraine, known as PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List). As was the case a month ago, PURL currently totals $2 billion.
This figure was reported today on Telegram by Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
According to him, under the program four defense aid packages have been allocated:
-
The Netherlands: $578 million
-
Denmark, Norway, and Sweden: $495 million
-
Germany: $500 million
-
Canada: $500 million
It should be noted that last week Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky handed U.S. President Donald Trump a list of weapons Ukraine needs, worth $90 billion. Zelensky stated that in October, Ukrainian officials will hold technical negotiations with the Americans on arms procurement.
Earlier, Ukrainian authorities estimated the country’s total need for Western military assistance for next year at $60 billion. Where Ukraine will find the funds for military needs and how it will cover budget shortfalls was analyzed in a separate report.
For reference, according to NATO Military Committee Chairman Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, military assistance to Ukraine will not increase this year and will amount to about $50 billion. Since January of this year, Ukraine has received arms worth $33 billion.
