Ukrainian blogger Oksana Voloshchuk, known by the pseudonym Ksyusha Mannequin, who used to work as an escort and recently received the “Contribution to Military Intelligence of Ukraine 2nd Class” distinction from the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), has found herself in another scandal.<\/h3>\n

On her Instagram, she posted a photo for Ukraine’s State Flag Day that has stirred up outrage among users. The image shared on the social network depicts a naked and bloodied body, presumably her own, holding the flag of Ukraine to cover her genitals.<\/p>\n

In the comments section of the post, people have predictably divided into two camps. Many viewed this performance as disrespectful towards the national symbol:<\/p>\n

“This is a disgrace to the flag, a horrifying photo”; “Sorry, the idea behind the photo is undoubtedly open to interpretation, it reflects what we’ve all been feeling for the past year and a half, but couldn’t the flag be placed on her back or done differently? Not on her naked private parts”; “Using the flag to cover one area, I’ve never seen a more foolish photo for a holiday” \u2013 these are the critical comments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

However, there were those who supported Mannequin’s artistic expression:<\/p>\n

“One could perceive the flag against the body as an act of violence towards Ukraine. This is creativity. There’s no disgrace here”; “This is what we’re feeling right now”; “Not everyone can grasp the essence of the photo, it’s simultaneously beautiful and painful” \u2013 these are the statements from the supporters of the performance.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To recap, in the spring, the advisor to the President’s Office, Mykhailo Podoliak, met with Ukrainian bloggers, during which Mannequin was awarded the “Contribution to Military Intelligence of Ukraine 2nd Class” insignia.
