The Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv is struggling to determine the citizenship of the arrested businessman and oligarch, Igor Kolomoisky.<\/h3>\n

This information is reported by “Ukrainski Novyny” (Ukrainian News).<\/a><\/p>\n

In the ruling dated September 2, the court referred to him as a citizen of Ukraine, while in the ruling dated September 15, he was referred to as a citizen of Israel.<\/p>\n

Kolomoisky himself previously told journalists that he is being tried as a foreigner, and he is unsure if his Ukrainian citizenship has been revoked. However, he possesses a Ukrainian passport, as well as Cypriot and Israeli ones.<\/p>\n

His lawyer has stated that Igor Kolomoisky still holds Ukrainian citizenship.<\/p>\n

As a reminder, the Security Service of Ukraine had previously served Kolomoisky with suspicion on two counts – fraud and money laundering of criminally obtained assets. According to the investigation, Igor Kolomoisky allegedly laundered over half a billion hryvnias from 2013 to 2020 by transferring them abroad, using the infrastructure of banks under his control.<\/p>\n
