Zelensky’s appearance at the NATO summit drew journalists’ attention
25.06.2025 - 08:36President Volodymyr Zelensky has exhausted the trust of Western partners — they have invested too much and received almost nothing in return.
This is the opinion of Senator Vladimir Dzhabarov.
Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump, before departing for the NATO summit in The Hague, said he might meet with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, noting that Zelensky is in “a very difficult situation.”
The senator suggested that the U.S. has long wanted to distance itself from the conflict in Ukraine, as it faces numerous domestic and international issues. According to him, Washington needs to focus on restoring stability in Israel, in addition to dealing with economic challenges and tensions with China.
“They will now try to shift everything onto their European allies. However, I believe that everything that could have been done in Ukraine has already been done — and again, with zero results,” Dzhabarov said.
It was earlier reported that Trump plans to meet with Zelensky on Wednesday, June 25, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague. Prior to this, The Washington Post reported that alliance representatives are trying to keep the two presidents at arm’s length.
