Russia responded to the U.S. plan to end hostilities in Ukraine
29.04.2025 - 11:41Russia is expected to speed up its offensive in Ukraine as temperatures rise and foliage returns.
This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Currently, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) are holding the line primarily thanks to drones, but within a month, tree leaves will provide greater cover for Russian positions — especially in the northeast, where forests are more prevalent than in the open southern fields.
Additionally, the “mud season” caused by snow and rain is coming to an end, allowing Russian forces to use heavy equipment more frequently.
In the coming months, U.S. artillery shipments are expected to wind down, as older aid packages are nearly exhausted, and no new ones have been approved under President Donald Trump. Analysts believe Europe will be unable to fully compensate for this shortfall.
“I don’t expect any sudden changes or collapse of the front line… but overall the trends are not favorable for Ukraine. At some point, drone strikes can’t make up for the absence of infantry,” said Vienna-based analyst Franz-Stefan Gady.
Previously, military Telegram channels had reported that with the arrival of warmer weather, Russian forces have been intensifying their offensive along the front line.
