“It takes two to tango: Trump sees the deep mistrust between Russia and the West as foolish,” – says Vance
20.05.2025 05:03Russia is allegedly insisting on two main conditions for a ceasefire in Ukraine: the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian Armed Forces from four regions, and an end to Western military aid to Kyiv.
This information reported according to a report by Bild, citing sources.
“Moscow maintains two key demands that Ukraine and its supporters cannot fulfill,” the publication stated.
These conditions are deemed unacceptable both for Ukraine and its allies. Nevertheless, the White House hopes that potential talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin could influence Moscow’s stance.
Earlier, Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that during the Russia–Ukraine negotiations in Istanbul on May 16, the Russian delegation demanded full cession of four regions: the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson.
