Russia may intentionally not be in a hurry to push Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk region to weaken Ukrainian resistance in other areas of the front.
This opinion was expressed by former Deputy Chief of the British Defense Staff, General Sir Simon Mayall, in a comment to Sky News.
According to General Mayall, the concentration of Ukrainian forces and Western weapons in the Kursk region could divert attention from more critical areas, such as Donbas.
“This could have unfortunate consequences for the Ukrainians, as they have brought in quite a lot of foreign equipment, and they might just be sitting there, being managed by the Russians, without having a real impact on what is happening in Donbas,” the general said.
