05.11.2026 13:01Russia launched a drone with propaganda leaflets at Kyiv.
The incident occurred yesterday, reported Robert Brovdi, commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in his Telegram channel.
According to him, the drone was shot down.
“Yesterday evening, near the combat positions of the 427th Separate Brigade ‘Raroh,’ a Russian drone was shot down, which, along with its warhead, was carrying a batch of enemy propaganda leaflets,” he wrote.
Among the materials was an instruction on “fighting the tyranny of the TCC.”
The leaflets also announced the creation of a “Ukrainian Volunteer Brigade” in the Russian army and invited Kyiv residents to choose a name for it. Among the options listed were “Kyivan Rus,” named after Nestor Makhno, named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, and “Bandera Rosso.”
Brovdi advised against scanning the QR code on the leaflets, since there is a threat that a virus for stealing data could be downloaded to a smartphone through it.
Earlier, last year, Russia dropped leaflets disguised as money on Chernihiv with calls to hand over the coordinates of Ukrainian Armed Forces positions. And in May, Russian drones scattered leaflets in Sumy timed to Victory Day. They had QR codes printed on them and read: “Our grandfathers were brothers in the trenches,” “History has divided us, but Victory Day is a memory that cannot be divided.”
