FT published a call for peace in Ukraine from former Western diplomats
11.07.2024 11:40Russia will not participate in the upcoming summit aimed at resolving the Ukrainian crisis, as it does not accept ultimatums.
This statement was made by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Mikhail Galuzin.
He noted that Russia is aware of the “intentions” of Kyiv and its “Western handlers” to “redeem themselves” for the failed peace summit in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, in mid-June of this year and to attempt to hold a similar event.
“They are even thinking of inviting Russia… The specific location has not been determined. However, geography is not of principal importance. The content, which is quite clear, is more important,” Galuzin said.
According to him, Russia hears the same rhetoric “in the vain hope of pushing through the absolutely dead-end and ultimatum-based formula of [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky” and sees the deliberate ignoring of other initiatives for resolving the Ukrainian crisis.
“This is yet another manifestation of fraud. We do not accept such ultimatums and do not intend to participate in such summits,” the deputy minister stated.
