07.05.2025 09:08Russia will use “Oreshnik” missiles against Kyiv if Ukraine strikes Moscow during the May 9 Victory Day celebrations.
This was reported by several Russian Telegram channels.
They claim that Ukraine is preparing provocations more serious than drone attacks.
According to sources in these channels, President Vladimir Putin has already instructed the Russian Ministry of Defense to identify targets for a retaliatory strike, with Kyiv reportedly selected as one of the main targets. Among the weapons planned for use is the “Oreshnik” missile system.
Previously, Ukrainian sources suggested that Ukraine is unlikely to strike Red Square during the parade, but may target other regions of Russia instead.
However, both President Volodymyr Zelensky and Presidential Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak have hinted that a strike on the Moscow parade remains a possibility.
In response, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev warned that “May 10 may not come for Kyiv” if a strike occurs on May 9 in Moscow.
