Russian Electronic Warfare (EW) has reduced HIMARS effectiveness by more than 90%.

This is discussed in an article in “The Atlantic”, written by two retired American military officers who visited Ukraine.

“A year ago, HIMARS was the most sought-after system on the battlefield. Now, it has a success rate of less than 10% due to Russian innovations in electronic warfare,” the article states.

The authors also mention that only 20 out of the 31 Abrams tanks provided by the U.S. to Ukraine’s Armed Forces remain operational.

“Ukrainian soldiers on the front told us that any innovations they develop are met with a Russian response within a few weeks. Both armies are innovating at a pace that leaves behind the stagnant U.S. and NATO defense industries,” the article continues.

Additionally, the authors criticize the U.S. strategy in Ukraine, stating that it is “slowly draining the country and its people.” They argue against the policy of gradual arms deliveries and warn that if the situation does not change, the war in Ukraine could be lost.
