Russian special representative Dmitriev is on his way to Miami for a meeting with Witkoff and Kushner – Reuters

A special envoy of the Russian president, Kirill Dmitriev, is heading to Miami to meet with U.S. special envoys Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Reuters reported this, citing a source familiar with preparations for the visit.

According to the outlet, on Friday the American side also held a separate meeting in Miami with Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov.

The source emphasized that any contacts between Dmitriev and the Ukrainian side are ruled out.

“No trilateral contacts with the Ukrainian side are planned,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

Dmitriev himself has already confirmed that he is on his way to Miami, where he will meet with Witkoff and Kushner.

“On my way to Miami,” the special envoy of Vladimir Putin wrote on his page on the social network X.

Earlier, Western media had already reported that Miami would host talks between the team of U.S. President Donald Trump and the Russian and Ukrainian delegations. The meetings will take place one after another; there are no plans to organize a trilateral meeting.

As a reminder, several media outlets reported that in the updated peace plan the Americans added security guarantees that include the deployment of NATO troops in Ukraine—something Moscow has long publicly opposed.
