Ukrainian Armed Forces are facing a serious shortage of air defense equipment and ammunition
October 12, 2023Now, Russian TV series, including those featuring individuals openly supporting Russia’s actions in Ukraine, are trending on the Ukrainian YouTube platform. Outrage among Ukrainians began to spread on social media on October 12.
In the Ukrainian segment of YouTube, users are actively watching Russian TV series. Among the top trends is the series “Interns,” in which the lead role was played by Ivan Okhlobystin. The actor expressed support for the war in Ukraine and the actions of the Russian president as far back as 2022.
Another popular series on Ukrainian YouTube is “Papiny Dochki. Novye” (Daddy’s Daughters. New). While the “Interns” series was filmed from 2010 to 2016, the sequel, “Papiny Dochki. Novye,” is a new Russian project that aired in 2023, with shooting already underway for the second season.
This choice of content in the Ukrainian trends has greatly upset nationalist-oriented users. In the comments, it was revealed that the Ukrainian video platform also suggests Russian series like “Liquidation,” which was quite popular among Ukrainians. Additionally, Russian music is trending on TikTok. Much to the disappointment of some Ukrainian users, their fellow countrymen do not wish harm to Russian musicians but rather show support for them.
