This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.
She specified that foreign military facilities and units would be regarded as legitimate targets.
“The Russian Foreign Ministry warns that the deployment on Ukrainian territory of military units, military facilities, warehouses, and other infrastructure belonging to Western countries will be classified as a foreign intervention posing a direct threat to the security not only of Russia but also of other European countries. All such units and facilities will be regarded as legitimate military targets for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” Zakharova said.
On January 6, a summit of the “coalition of the willing” was held in Paris, attended by European leaders as well as U.S. President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and the White House leader’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. A Ukrainian delegation led by President Volodymyr Zelensky was also present. After the meeting, Zelensky, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and French President Emmanuel Macron signed a declaration on deploying multinational forces in Ukraine after the conflict ends.
On January 8, Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas said the country is ready to contribute to Ukraine’s security guarantees by sending several hundred troops to Ukraine.
