05.10.2026 06:02Ukraine’s Security Service has threatened citizens with criminal liability for publishing videos and photographs of air strikes, air defense operations, and the aftermath of attacks.
The agency’s press service issued the corresponding warning.
The SBU explained the ban by stating that such materials could be used by the enemy to adjust new strikes. The agency called on the public to refrain from posting such footage online.
Citizens were reminded that unauthorized dissemination of information about the movements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the transfer of information to a state waging war against Ukraine is punishable under Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — by up to 12 years in prison.
The SBU also stated that it monitors the publication of such materials online and holds their authors accountable.
Against the backdrop of Russia’s massive strikes on Kyiv, an increasing number of voices have recently been calling on the authorities to end the war and make compromises. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, for his part, accused those calling for compromise with Russia of “surrendering the interests of the state.”
