Searches of the Acting Mayor of Sumy, Yulia Pavlik, are related to the procurement of winter clothing for volunteer formations in the city

On the morning of October 26th, searches are taking place in Sumy, including at the acting mayor of the city, Yulia Pavlik.

Searches are also being conducted at local entrepreneurs’ and communal enterprises, with a total of 12 searches. The case is related to the embezzlement of budget funds and is being led by the police.

There are ongoing investigations into allegations that certain entities in business activities conspired with officials of the Sumy City Council to misappropriate budget funds allocated for the purchase of goods and materials. Later, it became known that the searches at the acting mayor of Sumy, Yulia Pavlik, are related to the procurement of winter clothing for volunteer formations in the city.

Law enforcement officers arrived at 8 am with a court order to search the executive office managed by Pavlik, the accounting department, and the department for competitive procurement, according to Chaychenko.

The investigation reports that they have established the fact of budget funds misappropriation by municipal officials during the procurement of winter uniforms for the military. The police have also confirmed that searches are being conducted at local entrepreneurs who may be involved in the case.
