September 26, 2023Starting from October 1, there will be no changes in the travel conditions for women leaving Ukraine.
At least this promised by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine – according to the Ministry’s statement.
“Every woman with a medical or pharmaceutical education can freely cross the state border, regardless of whether she is on military registration or not (restrictions apply only to certain categories of civil servants and officials holding certain positions).”
All women between the ages of 18 and 60 who have medical or pharmaceutical education or work in professions such as doctors, dentists, midwives, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacologists, scientists, heads of healthcare departments, and so on, are already required to be on military registration, as reminded by the Ministry of Health. This norm is not new and has been in effect since 1992, so most female healthcare professionals and pharmacists are already registered accordingly.
To clarify, Ukrainian women in the medical and pharmaceutical fields may have to go to the military registration offices and be registered starting from October 1, and those who already have military IDs will need to update their information and undergo a medical examination.
Previously, government representatives made statements suggesting that travel abroad for women after being put on military registration might be restricted, leading to panic within the healthcare and pharmaceutical professions and an increase in the number of women wishing to leave the country.
