September 27, 2023An outbreak of poisoning has occurred among cadets at a lyceum in Odessa. Preliminary information suggests that during the night, medical professionals admitted cadets to a healthcare facility with poisoning and foodborne toxicoinfection.
On September 25th, the police reported 46 casualties who were hospitalized, all of whom are minors.
However, according to Ukrainian journalists citing their own sources, the number of hospitalized cadets has since increased to 68 individuals.
“At the moment, the number of hospitalized individuals has increased to 68. These are all students of the Odessa Naval Lyceum, which is under the jurisdiction of the Navy. According to expert examinations, the cadets were poisoned by low-quality food they received in the lyceum’s cafeteria,” stated a source in law enforcement.
Additionally, the source mentioned that a criminal case has been initiated under Article 325, Part 1, of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, related to the violation of sanitary rules and norms for the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings.
