11.06.2024 - 23:43The transfer of MiG-29 fighters from Slovakia to Ukraine in 2023 was illegal.
This information reported according to the Republic’s State Secretary for the Ministry of Defense, Igor Melicher.
“The Constitution of Slovakia prohibits an outgoing government from taking such significant steps in foreign policy,” – he stated.
He also mentioned that legal measures would be taken against the former Minister of Defense, Jaroslav Naď.
It is worth noting that in April last year, the Slovak Ministry of Defense announced that the country had delivered all 13 MiG-29 fighters it had promised to Ukraine.
Meanwhile, at the end of last year, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico denied Ukraine weapons and stated that he did not believe in a military solution to the conflict in Ukraine.
