In the West, it was noted that Zelensky’s position is worsening by the minute
11.11.2025 14:02The war in Ukraine will last at least two more years if the European Union approves a reparations loan to Kyiv funded by frozen Russian assets.
This was stated by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, as quoted by Bloomberg.
“Do we want to end the war, or are we stoking it? Are we going to allocate €140 billion to Ukraine to continue the war? What does that mean? That the war will last at least two more years,” the politician said.
He stressed that Slovakia “will not participate in any legal or financial scheme” aimed at using frozen Russian assets to finance Ukraine’s military expenditures.
This is not Fico’s first statement on the topic; he has spoken similarly before.
As a reminder, the idea of expropriating the Russian central bank’s frozen reserves is currently stalled due to Belgium’s position.
The Financial Times wrote that tensions are rising between Belgium and the EU on this issue, noting that Brussels is demanding that any potential legal liability for expropriating Russia’s state assets be shared among all EU member states.
