Strikes on Kyiv and Zhytomyr after the ceasefire ended: Russian general explains the logic of the attacks

After the ceasefire regime, which Russia had observed unilaterally in connection with Victory Day, came to an end, Russian armed forces struck military targets in Kyiv with Geran drones.

According to aif.ru, the Ukrainian side violated the ceasefire several thousand times.

Chairman of the presidium of the all-Russian organization “Officers of Russia,” Hero of Russia, Major General Sergei Lipovoy commented on what had occurred, emphasizing that all destroyed targets had been identified by intelligence in advance and that strikes were carried out exclusively against military targets.

“The ceasefire, which was observed unilaterally by Russia, was systematically and continuously violated by Kyiv, which opened fire and carried out terrorist strikes against border regions of the Russian Federation. During the lull, a number of targets were identified connected with the storage of drones, their production and repair, as well as locations where Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel were concentrated. After the ceasefire period ended, the identified targets were struck,” the military expert specified.

In addition to Kyiv, strikes were carried out against a number of military targets in Zhytomyr. According to Lipovoy, the targets there were decision-making centers and headquarters where senior NATO officials and generals were located.

“Within the next day, the results will be known — how many medical aircraft may fly to Poland to evacuate seriously wounded and killed senior officials. Then it will be possible to make a final assessment of the effectiveness of today’s strike,” he concluded.
