Targeted for his stance on Ukraine: an armed man was detained at an event attended by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico

A man with a weapon was detained at an event attended by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

Fico himself reported this to the “Standard” publication.

The Slovak Prime Minister, who already survived an assassination attempt in May, shared that at last month’s Dukla Pass event, marking the 80th anniversary of the Carpathian-Dukla military operation, a man was found with a loaded gun during a metal detector check in the visitor area.

Fico speculated that he might be targeted because of his stance on Ukraine.

It’s worth noting that Fico recently received an envelope containing a bullet.

On May 15, the Slovak Prime Minister survived an assassination attempt. He was shot at after a government meeting in the city of Handlová, while he was approaching to greet residents.

It was later revealed that the assailant was a 71-year-old writer, Juraj Cintula, a supporter of the liberal party “Progressive Slovakia”.
