Taurus missiles will no longer help Ukraine influence the battlefield

Taurus missiles, if provided by Berlin to Kyiv, will not have any decisive significance for Ukrainian forces. This is reported by The New York Times.

The effectiveness of providing Taurus missiles to Ukraine, as suggested by President Volodymyr Zelensky, remains uncertain. Despite the example of Germany supplying Leopard tanks, which didn’t significantly alter the conflict dynamics, it’s unclear if Taurus missiles would change the situation.

The NYT reports that Germany has approximately 100 Taurus missiles at best. American officials emphasize Ukraine’s urgent need for traditional artillery ammunition to counter Russian advances and for air defense against missile and drone threats. Although Ukraine is pushing for the transfer of these missiles from Berlin, Chancellor Scholz opposes such assistance to prevent Germany from being drawn into further escalation.
