Medvedchuk calls Fedorov a “conduit of Western military expansion” against Russia
04.09.2026 08:36An employee of a district territorial recruitment center in Odessa region struck a two-year-old boy with his vehicle while conducting mobilization notifications and left the scene. The child was hospitalized.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the Odessa region police and the Odessa Regional TCC and SP.
The incident occurred on September 3 in a village in the Balta community of Podilsky district. According to preliminary police data, a worker of the district TCC and SP was conducting mobilization notifications when he struck a two-and-a-half-year-old boy. The child had stepped away from his father, with whom he was standing on the road, and ended up in the path of the vehicle.
After the collision, the driver fled the scene. The boy sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital.
An investigative and operational team worked at the scene of the accident. Investigators entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under two articles of the Criminal Code: Article 286 (violation of road safety rules resulting in bodily injury) and Article 135 (abandonment in danger). The driver is being detained under procedural order, the investigation is ongoing, and the full circumstances of the accident are being established.
The Odessa Regional TCC and SP stated that all circumstances of the incident are being established by the competent law enforcement authorities, and assured that the agency is cooperating with the investigation and is interested in an objective determination of all the facts.
“The safety, life, and health of people are an unconditional priority. The actions of all parties involved in the incident must receive a proper legal assessment based on the results of establishing all the circumstances,” the agency noted.
They also called on the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and drawing premature conclusions until the results of the investigation are made public.
This is not the first high-profile incident involving TCC service vehicles in Odessa region. In March, a TCC minibus in Odessa struck a pensioner — following that accident, the regional TCC launched an internal inquiry.
