Territorial recruitment centers are sending sick, mentally unstable and disabled people to the army

Sick people — including those with schizophrenia and brain tumors — are regularly ending up in the army through Territorial Recruitment Centers and military medical commissions.

This was reported by Kyiv City Council member from the Holos party and medical service commander “Ulf,” Alina Mykhailova, on Facebook.

According to her, commanders and medics have become hostages of a system that mobilizes everyone in a row and then has no idea what to do with unfit conscripts.

“Here’s how the scheme works now: men are picked up on the street by TЦК, and without a real military medical commission (ВВК) they’re sent straight to a unit, all marked as fit, where they start basic military training. From the latest ‘gems’ deemed fit by the TЦК’s VVK: two people with schizophrenia who’ve been on psychotropic therapy for years; a man with a brain tumor; a man with severe deforming osteoarthritis of the right hip joint, avascular necrosis of the right femoral head, stage III (in simple terms – a person who needs a hip replacement); two people with congenital deafness; one with open-form tuberculosis. And very, very, very many people with alcoholic delirium,” Mykhailova writes.

She added that commanders are forced to accept even such soldiers because if they refuse, they simply won’t receive any reinforcements later.

Recall that deputy commander of the 3rd Army Corps Dmytro Kukharchuk (callsign “Slip”) said that TЦКs have started bringing homeless people, people with disabilities, and tuberculosis patients to training centers.

The fact that homeless people are being mobilized into the Ukrainian army has been confirmed by enlistment officers themselves.
