The acting head of the Civil-Legal Cooperation Department of the ‘South’ territorial defense forces has been arrested for allegedly accepting a one-million-hryvnia bribe.
Ukrainian media are reporting this information, citing sources within law enforcement agencies.
“Captain Roman Tsobenko has been detained. He allegedly received one million hryvnias from the chairman of the Dobrovelychkivska village council in exchange for not changing the legal registration location of units belonging to the 121st and 124th brigades of the “South” territorial defense forces to another locality. As a result, the Dobrovelychkivska village council will not be exempt from further income tax on individuals’ military income contributions to the community’s budget,” the source stated.
The source also added that Tsobenko could face up to two years of imprisonment.
