The birth rate in Ukraine may fall to the lowest level in the world.

The publication writes that the birth rate in Ukraine was the lowest in Europe even before the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in 2022. Currently, Ukrainian demographers predict that this figure may become the lowest in the world.

The number of births in the first six months of this year was 28% lower than the same period in pre-war 2021: a sharp drop since Ukraine gained independence in 1991.
